2000 Dodge Caravan Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2000 Dodge Caravan?
A: You should first release the hood latch and open the hood to start the cruise control servo process. Release the throttle and speed control cable ends from the throttle body, after which you can push the light tabs to remove the speed control cable casing. After that, take off the vacuum line at its nipple on the air intake plenum and release the tie wrap that holds the vacuum line, throttle cable and speed control cable. Open the bolt traveling through the side of the battery tray/vacuum reservoir, disconnect the speed control servo and separate its wire connector and the vacuum line going to the battery tray/vacuum reservoir. Take the cable from your old speed control, connect it to the replacement, then insert the servo and attach the vacuum line to the servo tray/vacuum reservoir. Fasten the wire connector back to the speed control servo and, using the bolt, place it on the battery tray. Put the tie wrap back on the vacuum line, throttle cable and speed control cable, join the vacuum line from the air intake plenum to where it belongs, install the speed control cable casing to the bracket and attach the throttle and speed control cable ends to the throttle body prior to inserting the air cleaner resonator.
