  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Fuel Injector on 2000 Dodge Caravan?
    A: You should remove the fuel rail first to begin service or repair of the fuel injector. Safely disconnect the wire connector to the injector, remove it and put the fuel rail assembly closer so you can access the fuel injectors. Turn the injector and remove it from the fuel rail, making certain the clip is still attached. Review the O-ring on the injector for any harm and change it if it looks bad. If planning to use the injector again, always put a protective cap on the injector tip and if the clip is damaged too, you should replace that as well. Go through the same process for all the other injectors. Prior to inserting the injector, cleanly add a tiny drop of engine oil to the rubber O-ring on the injector. Slide the open part of the injector clip into the top slot of the injector, so the receiver cup easily fits into the side slots on the clip. Be careful as you install the top end of the injector into the fuel rail receiver cap so that you don't harm the O-ring. Repeat this process for every other fuel injector and connect the fuel injector wiring afterwards.
