2000 Dodge Intrepid Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2000 Dodge Intrepid?
A: Before working on the fuel rail, let the fuel system relax and take off the negative battery cable. Unbolt the intake manifold plenum from the engine and, while doing so, make sure to cover the intake manifold so no foreign items can pass inside. Remove the fuel supply tube quick connect fittings at the back of the intake manifold first. In case the injector connectors don't show their cylinder number, tag them to distinguish them. Weakened gasoline rail mounting bolts and raise the gasoline rail right off the cylinder head. Unplug the retaining clips from the fuel injectors lying on the fuel rail and then pull out the injectors. Before installing, dab a little engine oil on the O-rings of the fuel injectors, then clip on the retaining clips. Push each injector until its clip snaps into place on the fuel injector rail. Set the fuel rail above the cylinder heads and lower it firmly, applying 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.) torque to the rail's securing bolts. Replace the intake manifold plenum and remember to connect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
