2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Weather Strip Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Door Weather Strip on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: The first part of replacing or repairing rear door weather strip is to get rid of the lower b-pillar trim panel on the front door side and the whole cowl trim panel. Also, remove the seal from the door opening flange next. Remove the trim from the b-pillar and c-pillar under the rear door, then take out the rear door seal from the opening of the door. When installing the front door seal, put the bulb facing outside on the bottom of the gap, starting from the middle of the seal flange. Put the seal over the sill flange and push it all the way around, smoothing as you go to prevent bumps or ripples. Replace the b-pillar trim on the lower part and the cowl panel. Carefully remove the tear strip starting at the splice and moving round the front side of the door to the back. For the seal along the back door, set it at the bottom of the door where it meets the bottom edge, with the bulb pointing outside and press it onto the flange along the sill to make sure no wrinkles form. Set the lower c-pillar trim and the lower b-pillar trim and then remove the tear strip from the splice towards the back, then follow it around the door to the front when replacing the weather strip.
