2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Tail Pipe Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Tail Pipe on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: You should raise and support the car before starting any service or repair on the exhaust pipe. Drop some heat valve lubricant into the clamp nuts and let it stay for 5 minutes inside the engine. Remove the clamps, nuts and tailpipe support hanger, then take the exhaust tailpipe out. Loosey fit the tailpipe to make sure everything matches and next, hook up all the support hangers. Place the exhaust tailpipe so that it is clear of the underbody and screw the clamp nuts to a torque of 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.). Following the lowering, power on the engine and check for leaks from the exhaust, making sure there is 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) or more clearance between the two systems.
