2000 Dodge Viper Pilot Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Pilot Bearing on 2000 Dodge Viper?
A: The first step is to take out the transmission from the vehicle and the next is to remove the clutch cover and disc. Should you find the pilot bearing hard to pull, use an internal puller and slide hammer. Use Mopar high temperature wheel bearing grease to lubricate the new bearing, then set it onto the engine crankshaft with your hands or with the clutch alignment tool. Now, slide in the clutch disc, the cover plate and firmly reinstall the transmission assembly into the car.
