How to Replace a Headlight Bulb on 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

The first thing to do when servicing the headlamp bulb is removal of the headlamp access cover under the splash shield. After that, unscrew the socket counterclockwise by one quarter to release it, remove the bulb and socket from the headlamp. Remove the connector from the back of the high or low beam bulb before work. Never touch the glass part of the bulb or any oily surface during installation, because it can cause the bulb to burn out more quickly. Fasten the wire connector to the rear of the high or low beam bulb for the new headlamp and then place the bulb inside the headlamp housing. Secure the socket by rotating it clockwise one quarter turn, check that the lamps work as needed and then fit the headlamp access cover into the splash shield.
