2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Wiper Blade Parts and Q&A
Q: What Precautions Should You Take When Servicing Wiper Blades on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: When servicing your wiper blades, remember that only the driver side arm includes an extra bridge and eight claws, while the passenger side has only six. Place the notched part of both wiper elements facing the pivot. Start by placing the wiper knob to ON and then move the blades to a useful location by changing the ignition switch. Lift the retainer on the arm to raise the wiper high off the glass, then press the latch on the pivot block with the tip of the arm. Pull the blade out of the pivot until it releases from the blade hook. Never allow the wiper arm to touch the glass when the motor stops or this might harm the glass. Move the wiper arm tip down slowly and set it on the glass. When installing, lift the wiper arm off the windshield, place the wiper blade above the hook shape, direct the notched retainer toward the pivot and insert the hook through the hole in the blade superstructure. Place the hook on top of the pivot block and push the block up through the hook until the release tab is in place. Finally, place the wiper blade softly onto the glass.
