2002 Chrysler 300M Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2002 Chrysler 300M?
A: The first step for fuel injector service and repair is to release the pressure in the fuel system by using the Pressure Release Procedure. Unplug the negative battery terminal and remove the intake manifold plenum, as well as all its mounting bolts and lift it off the engine, doing this while the intake manifold is covered to protect it from debris. Tear apart the connector at the end of the fuel rail supply tube and if your injectors lack labels showing their related cylinder, tag them to identify them. Unscrew the fuel injector connectors and remove the bolts on each side of the fuel rail. Then, lift the fuel rail straight off the cylinder head. Get rid of the retaining clips from the fuel injectors and remove the injectors from their place. When you put in the fuel injectors, mark a few drops of clean engine oil on the O-rings, fasten their clips one by one and firmly insert them into the fuel injector rail until the clips are perfectly aligned. Place the fuel rail over the cylinder head and push it firmly so that its mounting bolts are properly secured at 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). Plug the fuel rail's quick connect fittings into the fuel supply tube, put the electrical connectors back onto the fuel injectors, install the intake manifold plenum and attach the battery cable at the end.
