2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Seat Heater Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service a Seat Heater Without Damaging the Cushion on 2003 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: The heating element cannot be removed from the seat or back cushion and doing so can damage the cushion. It is made to be laid on top of the original heating element. Start by removing the negative battery cable from the battery and the car. After that, remove the seat cushion or trim cover as needed and unplug the electrical wires for the seat that isn't heating. Identify the wires beneath the old heating element and trim them in a way that they are connected to the rest of the system. Before installation, peel back the sticky backing from the heating element and press it over the old one so that you do not bend or crease the assembly. Connect the heaters' sockets to the car's power cables, reconnect the negative battery cable and check that the heating system of the seat is operational. After finishing, reset the appropriate seat cushion or trim cover, making certain that all seat wire harnesses are secure and that any remaining wire is tucked under the cushion foam and behind the rear carpet flap of the cuticle.
