2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Brake Caliper on a Single Rear Wheel on 2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: First, open the brake fluid reservoir's cap and then lift the vehicle at its engine cradle to service or repair the rear disc brake calipers on a single rear wheel (SRW) vehicle. After removing the rear wheels, take out the wear indicator cable and the wear indicator. Shut up the line ends and the rest of the threads in the calipers with plugs and make sure the brake hoses are not cracked. After that, talk apart the brake hose from the brake caliper, then pull out the brake caliper guide bolt and detach the brake caliper itself. After fitting the brake caliper to the brake caliper adapter, tighten the guide bolt to either 25 Nm for an M8 size or 30 Nm for an M10 size, taking care the brake hose does not twist. Screw the brake hose into place on the brake caliper until the bolt is tightened to 14 Nm. After that, add the wear indicator cable and the wear indicator and tighten them to 10 Nm. Remove the caps at the brake cylinders and let the brakes bleed slightly, then search for any leaks. After you've confirmed everything is in order, move on to reinstalling the rear wheels and lowering the car.
