How to Maintain a Water Pump on 2.0L/2.4L Engines on 2003 Dodge Stratus?

Before servicing the water pump on 2.0L/2.4L engines, take out the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system. Following this, take the timing belt out, in addition to the camshaft sprockets and the rear timing belt cover, off the engine. After that, remove the water pump by removing the screws that hold it. Installation requires putting an O-ring in the groove on the water pump body so it is properly seated and will not damage or leak. Put the pump body onto the engine block and tighten the screws up to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Following this, spin the pump by hand to guarantee it moves without difficulty. Afterward, replace the rear timing belt cover, mount the camshaft sprockets, insert the timing belt and top up the cooling system.
