2004 Chrysler 300M Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor on 2004 Chrysler 300M?
A: When servicing a blower motor on a vehicle with air bags, always disable the system by disconnecting the battery negative cable, waiting two minutes and then isolating the battery. From inside the hood, disconnect the remote negative battery cable at its post to prevent any loss of power. Taking the lower right under panel duct out, you'll also need to separate the blower motor connector from the blower motor resistor block/power module. Push the grommet aside, feed the motor wiring through the blower motor housing cover, remove the cover and get rid of the blower motor retaining screws. Take the blower motor out of the housing by lowering it. The motor should be installed in the HVAC housing and your mounting screws should be tightened to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Fit the blower motor housing cover back onto the squirrel cage blower, slot the grommet of the blower motor wiring into the hole and attach the blower motor harness connector to the blower motor resistor block/power module. Last, put the lower right under panel duct back in place and connect the negative battery cable remote terminal to the remote battery post.
