2004 Dodge Viper Headlight Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Headlight on 2004 Dodge Viper?
A: The first step in servicing the headlamp is to open the deck lid, remove the four bolts holding the battery compartment cover and take off the cover. Be sure to remove the battery negative cable before opening the hood. Now, take out the fasteners and remove the front fender extension splash shield from where it is located on the car. Unscrew the three nuts on the access panel afterward and the panel will come off. Take each of the lamps, including the HID lamp/igniter, high beam and park/turn signal and hang them aside so they're out of the way. Get rid of the three nuts below the headlamp unit and direct the whole unit to come out of the fender opening. To improve clearance, sometimes you need to unscrew the fender retaining screws found along the hood's edge. After that, disconnect the headlamp unit from the vehicle.
