How to Service an Oil Filter on 2005 Chrysler Town & Country?

Before doing anything with the oil filter, place the remove/install tool band strap next to the can-to-base lock seam to prevent distorting the filter can. Grasp the filter with an appropriate wrench and unscrew it away from the oil adapter and then throw it away as directed. After that, wash the oil filter adapter base and check if the gasket fits properly. Cover the gasket of the new filter with clean oil before putting it into place on the engine base. Turn the filter one more turn or apply a torque of 20 Nm (around 15 ft. lbs.), if a filter wrench is available. When you are done, start up the engine and inspect the area for leaking fluid.
