2005 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Pump on 2005 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
A: The first step is to disconnect the belt and pull out most of the power steering fluid from its reservoir. After that, separate the hose connected to the high pressure valve from the pump. Take out the bolts holding the power steering pump to the engine. Put the power steering pump onto the engine and tighten the bolts to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Put on all new O-rings and hose clamps, then link the return hose to the pump and tighten the clamp. Secure a high pressure hose to the pump, tighten it with 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.) force and complete the process by pouring power steering fluid in.
