2005 Dodge Viper Seat Cushion Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain Your Seat Cushion for Optimal Comfort on 2005 Dodge Viper?
A: Before servicing the seat cushion assembly, you should lift off the seat first. After that, unscrew the recliner handle and remove the screw, seat belt buckle bolt and buckle. Remove the nuts or screws that secure the recliners to the base and pull out the child restraint anchorage bars if your car offers them. Remove the cable from the recliner, then unhook the seat back and rip out the seat cushion. Location matters: assemble the seat and back pieces right, join the cable to the recliner and clip the cable to its seat frame. Lock the seat back and recliners to the seat cushion, applying 28 N.m (21 ft.lbs.) of torque. When you have the child restraint anchorage bars, insert them and fasten their bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft.lbs.). Then, attach the seat belt buckle and use a torque gun to tighten the bolt to 40 N.m (30 ft.lbs.). At the end, push back the cover flaps on the cushion, set the recliner handle and screw into place and put the seat back on.
