To repair the trunk/liftgate latch, open the decklid and mark the latch outline. Disconnect the remote release solenoid, remove the latch bolts, and take out the latch. Reinstall the latch, tighten bolts to 12 N.m, reconnect the solenoid, and check the fit and operation of the latch.
