What is the Role of the Neutral Safety Switch in Servicing the Transmission Range Sensor on 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan?

The first thing to do in servicing the transmission range sensor is to take out the entire valve body assembly from the transaxle. After that, remove the retaining screw (3) on the transmission range sensor and take out the sensor (1) from the valve body and then remove the TRS (1) from the manual shaft. Install the TRS (1) on the valve body and tighten the retaining screw (3) to 5 Nm (45 inch lbs.), before putting back the valve body onto the transaxle.
