2006 Dodge Magnum Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on 2006 Dodge Magnum?
A: Hold down and press the brake pedal to begin handling the stop lamp switch. Un attach the stop lamp switch (2) from the brake pedal assembly (6) bracket by rotating it 30 degrees in the opposite direction from the clock and then pulling it to the back. Take out the wiring harness connector from the switch. Before mounting the stop lamp switch, stretch the plunger all the way outward so that it ratchets out to its furthest point. Place the wiring harness connector inside the stop lamp switch. First, set your brake pedal in the down position, next match the index key on the switch with the hole in the bracket and finally rotate the switch clockwise until you hear it engage. Make sure not to apply too much pressure to the brake pedal to keep the stop lamp switch or striker safe. In the end, take your foot off the brake pedal, letting the first plunger reset and also check the brake and speed lamps to confirm they are functioning correctly.
