2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Seat Heater Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Ensure Proper Functioning of Your Seat Heater in a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: First, unmount the negative battery terminal to work on the seat heater. Pull out the correct seat cushion or seat back trim cover, then unplug the electricity from the stopped working heated seat. Carefully remove the loose wire ends from the inoperative heating element at the edge of the original heating element. Remove the sticky backing from your replacement heating element and attach it directly on the existing factory element. Remain careful throughout the process not to fold or crease the element assembly, because this can result in it failing sooner. After that, attach the new heating element's electrical connections, plug in the battery negative cable again and check that the heated seat system is working. Next, put in the right seat cushion or seat back trim cover and make sure all the seat wiring is routed onto the harness and hidden between the rear of the foam cushion and the rear flap of the trim fabric.
