2007 Chrysler Sebring Radiator Cap Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What is the Correct Radiator Cap Part Number for 2.0L/2.4L Engines on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: It's important to check the exact pressure cap part number for vehicles with 2.0L/2.4L engines since these aren't similar to those for 3.5L/2.0L models. The 2.4L engine cap needs the vent valve at the bottom to fall open and when flipped, the valve must close tight. You need to replace the cap if the gasket looks swollen, you see light from the vent valve through the gasket when upside down, the bottom gasket is visibly thinning or the cap had more than one overheating event. When you have the 3.5L/2.0L diesel engine, tilt the cap right side up and make sure the normally closed vent valve opens slightly when you pull it with your fingernail. If the rubber gasket looks swollen, light appears between it and the vent valve, the bottom gasket is thinning or the cap was involved in a previous engine overheat, replace the cap with a new replacement that includes a spring to keep the vent closed.
