How to Install and Verify the Depth of a Crankshaft Timing Gear on 2007 Dodge Charger?

Installation To install the crankshaft timing gear, Special Tools 6780-1 and 8179 are used to install it without turning the crankshaft against the crankshaft step flange. Measure the depth of the outer face of the gear to the end of the crankshaft, and be sure it is 39.05 -0.50 mm (1.5374 -0.020 in.), prior to fitting the primary timing chain.
