  A: Do not use any spray cleaners or silicone lubricants on any part of the throttle body when servicing or fixing a 5.7L V-8. Clean and check for damage to the O-ring (2) and the connecting surfaces between the throttle body and intake manifold. Place the throttle body over the manifold alignment pins and tighten it down with 4 bolts. After that, connect the electrical connector and put the air plenum in place. If the throttle body is new, unhook the negative battery cable from the battery and allow it to sit without it for slightly more than one minute before you reconnect it. If the key is ON without turning on the engine, leave it that way for at least 10 seconds to allow the PCM to learn the data from the throttle body.
