How to Service and Repair a Hood Latch on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500?

Before working on the hood latch, first mark latch 2 and 4 using a grease pencil so it will be easy to put everything back together. After that, use a wrench to remove the bolts marked 1 to take off the top latch 2. You need to then get rid of the bolts 3 and then the bottom latch 4, along with the retaining plate, will come off too. Remove the cable 5 from the bottom locking point 4.
