  A: Make certain the engine is cool before working on the Air Injection Check Valve as the exhaust manifold, air injection pipes, exhaust pipes and catalytic converter(s) can cause burns. At the beginning, push the ends of the air outlet tube together and pull the air pump outlet tube sideways away from the air injection check valve. After that, remove the mounting bolts for the air injection check valve. Remove both the air injection check valve and gasket, then clean the air injection pipe of any old material from the gasket.
