To fix and maintain the cruise control switch safely, first isolate the car's negative battery cable, so that the capacitor in the front air bag system can discharge for two minutes before you take out the steering wheel or related front air bag items. You must take this step to deactivate the air bag system in the front of your car so it doesn't get deployed by accident. After that, take out the steering wheel air bag and disconnect electrical connector 1 from speed control switch 3. After doing all that, get rid of the screws from speed control switch 3 and take out the switch itself from the steering wheel.
