You don't need to take off the hood to change the hood hinges, as each side can be replaced individually. Place the hood hinge (3) onto the hood (2) and keep the nuts (1) untightened just for now. Place the hinges where you drew your earlier installation references and screw them in until the tightening wrench reaches 25 Nm or 18 ft. lbs. After that, mount the bolts (2) holding the hood hinge (1) to the body, making sure the hood hinge matches the hood and fender rail where the markers were used. Afterwards, tighten the bicycle's rear bolt with 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.) and the front bolt to the same pressure. Check that the striker and latch are in line and if needed, move the hood into the right place before closing it.
