If the seal in the liftgate is damaged, brittle or funny-looking, first change it before fitting the motor. Then, set the wiper motor in the liftgate and tighten the mounting nuts with a torque of 8 Nm (70 in. lbs). Attach the harness connector to the liftgate after which you should install the lower liftgate trim panel. Then, put in the rear wiper arm and tighten the nut to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs). After that, connect the negative battery terminal.
