  A: You should begin by unplugging the ground cable linked to the battery and then remove the air bag module from the steering wheel to remove the intermediate shaft. Set the steering wheel straight in front before you begin the work to keep the steering gear in place. Then, take out the electrical center and the bolt that holds the steering wheel and finally remove the steering wheel. Slowly turn the retaining bolts that secure the Clock Spring just till you can take it out untwisted. After that, remove the combination switch and break the electrical connection for the ignition lock. Separate the spring for the brake pedal from the steering column, then remove the bolt fixed to the universal joint. With the bolts removed, carefully pull the steering shaft with the universal joint off the steering gear drive shaft from where it's housed within the rubber grommet on the cab floor.
