2009 Dodge Dakota Flywheel Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Flywheel with a Dual Mass Adapter Plate on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: You should begin the flywheel service by removing the transmission first. If a Dual Mass Flywheel is available, you do not need to take off the adapter plate between the flywheel and crank. Then, remove the dust cover bolts and the dust cover from the photography equipment. To reach the flexplate-to-flywheel bolts, insert the Barring Tool 7471B through the hole and turn the engine and flywheel with the dial control. As soon as you can, release the group that joins the flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate, putting it on a workbench. Lift one bolt at a time, turning it by only a few threads before going to the next bolt and moving over to a neighboring spot. After the pressure plate bolts are loosened, take out all of the bolts and pull out the pressure plate, disc and flywheel.
