When installing the exhaust pipe on a 5.7L engine, place it so it's at least 25 mm (1.0 in.) from the underbody and frame. Line up the exhaust pipe with the manifold, add and tighten the bolts and nuts with 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.) of torque. After that, torque the clamp nuts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Following the installation, lower your vehicle, ignite the engine, inspect for leaks or contact between the exhaust and vehicle's body parts and align the suspension as needed.
