2009 Jeep Patriot Drain Plug Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Drain Plug on 2009 Jeep Patriot?
A: In order to change the radiator drain plug, take off the splash shield and front passenger wheel. Empty the cooling system, and continue to turn the draincock counterclockwise until it ceases, then turn it clockwise 1/8 before detaching it. Use no pliers to avoid breaking; draining the draincock is not necessary when making regular coolant drains.
