The engine compartment wire harness is connected to the Power Distribution Center (PDC) and serves as a unit. If any internal parts of the PDC or its casing are malfunctioning or broken, the whole PDC and engine compartment wire harness unit must be replaced. Separate the negative
Battery Cable from the remote terminal first and afterward disconnect all the engine compartment wire harness connectors. Withdraw the screws or fasteners attaching each of the ground eyelets in the engine compartment to the car body and chassis and release all the bolts or retainers that secure the engine compartment wire harness to the same areas. Following this, loosen one mounting screw, push in the locking tabs on the PDC base, take off the PDC and the engine compartment wire harness assembly from the engine compartment. To install, place the PDC above the mounting bracket in the engine bay, make sure the PDC mounting slots fit over the mounting bracket blades and push down evenly on the housing until it snaps into place. Take the compartment wire harness from the PDC and route it through the engine compartment, linking the harness retainers with the mounting positions on the vehicle body and chassis and also make a clip attachment to the rail behind the PDC. After attaching the eyelets to the body and chassis, tighten up the fasteners and finish by connecting all engine compartment wire harness connectors once again. When switching to a new PDC, move all
Fuses, fuse cartridges, fusible links and relays from the old PDC into the proper places in the new PDC. After that, make sure to torque the nut secured to the positive cable at the PDC to 96 - 141 N.m (85 - 130 in. lbs.) and link up the battery's negative remote cable.
