Being an essential component of the Chrysler Crossfire engine, the EGR Valve offers a high tec exhaust gas recirculation element simplifying nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, controlling combustion temperatures, and enhancing general performance. Applicable to different 2004 to 2006 Chrysler Crossfire models, this EGR Valve automatically adjusts for engine conditions and works optimally at different operating loads. Backpressure transducers are some of the many subtle innovations that improve the flow of EGR in automotive sector setting this particular brand from the rest. Chrysler Crossfire EGR Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair an EGR Valve on Chrysler Crossfire?
    A:
Before you try to repair or service the EGR valve, unplug the negative battery cable and remove the air cleaner housing. After that, unplug the solenoid harness connector and the solenoid to valve vacuum line. Unscrew the flange nut on the EGR tube from the valve. Then remove the solenoid to valve mounting bolt and the mounting bolts on the valve to cylinder head. Make sure to wipe the gasket surfaces clean, omit the old gasket and also clean the EGR areas when necessary. To install, insert a gasket between the valve and the cylinder head and set up the front valve bolt by hand at this point, twisting it only enough to allow you to fully tighten it later. Put the solenoid at the valve and partially attach it to the solenoid-to-valve bolt and then do the same thing for the valve rear bolt to the cylinder head. Install the EGR tube flange nut only loosely on the valve. Then, tighten the valve to cylinder head bolts to 31 N.m (23 ft. lbs.), the flange nut to 11 N.m (95 in. lbs.) and the bolts connecting the solenoid to valve to 11 N.m (95 in. lbs.). After you are done, reconnect the solenoid harness connector and the vacuum hose, replace the air cleaner housing and reinstall the negative battery cable.
