- Q: How to Remove and Install the Center Console Base on Chrysler Prowler?A:You should begin by pulling back and releasing the convertible top to make removing the center console easier. Twist the shifter all the way backward so it is in the "Auto Stick" position and then remove the set screw from the shifter handle. Use a trim stick to pry the shift bezel loose, always starting from the front right tab to make sure you do not break it. Unplug the transmission range indicator wire and take out the shifter bezel from your vehicle. Lift off the screw on the front of the center console, just below the shifter button. Open the console bin and take out the four front and rear screws. Release the emergency brake lever to its highest position.
