You can start the alternator service by first releasing the hood latch and opening the hood. Unplug the battery's negative wire and remove the accessory drive belt. After that, take out the push-in field wire connector from the back of the generator, remove the screw holding the B+ wire at the generator's terminal and disconnect the B+ wire from the generator terminal. Take out the nut securing the top of the generator to the adjustable T-bolt and the bolt holding the bottom generator pivot to the lower mount, then remove the generator. During installation, lower the generator onto the vehicle and attach the bottom pivot bolt. Then tighten the top nut on the adjustable T-bolt. Bring the B+ wire into position at the generator terminal and then use the nut to connect and hold it to the back terminal.
