A Dodge Caravan Radiator Drain Plug is a small component that allows a vehicle's coolant to be easily released for maintenance. The Radiator Drain Plug is situated near the radiator bottom. When opened, it allows fluid a direct path to drain. This way, the cooling system can be flushed or filled. Also, when closed, the Radiator Drain Plug prevents coolant from escaping during normal operation. By preventing leaking, a tight Radiator Drain Plug ensures that any Caravan engine will stay within its normal 195 to 200 degree operating range and not overheat. In case this component gets damaged, it may leak coolant and could overheat the engine enough to damage the internal parts. Many configurations of the Radiator Drain Plug may be made by molding them from plastic, machining them from brass, or forming them with silicone, but all do the same to hold or to release. The right part keeps a Dodge cooling system factory secure and fits the intended applications for the Caravan built under the Dodge banner, safeguarding the powertrain of all Dodge vehicles.
