When servicing the fuel rail on a 2.7L engine, let the fuel pressure out of the system, work in a well-ventilated place and stay far from things that can spark or flame. Release the battery's negative terminal and after that, take out the intake manifold plenum. Make sure there is a cover on the intake manifold to stop things from entering the engine. Remove the tube at the end of the fuel rail and also unconnect the electrical wires at each fuel injector by sliding the red slider to one side and pressing the tab. Each injection wiring location is tagged in the factory harness; if that is missing, note where each wiring harness is before you pull it out. Remove the bolts at both ends of the fuel rail and elevate the fuel rail directly up from the engine. After that, pull out the retaining clips from the fuel injectors and unhook the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.

After that, secure the intake plenum manifold and attach the negative cable to the battery. After that, use the scan tool to increase fuel system pressure and detect any leaks.
