You should remove the lower anchor bolt, the upper C-pillar trim panel, the upper turning loop retaining bolt and the seat belt retractor mounting bolt when servicing rear seat belts and retractors in a sedan. Pull the retractor toward you and let it down until the tabs come out of the slots. For the installation, position the retractor on the C-pillar so the indexing tab goes up, then set the retractor mounting bolt to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.). After that, fit the upper turning loop retaining bolt and tighten it to 40 N.m (30 ft-lbs.), continue with the upper C-pillar panel, followed by the lower seat belt anchor bolt and torque it to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.). When attaching the rear center seat belt, first take off the rear
Seat Cushion, then the lower anchor nut, the shelf panel and the retractor's retaining nut. Bring the retractor assembly to the rear and let it lock into place. Connect the retaining nut to the black stud below the rear shelf, putting in just enough torque (34 N.m or 25 ft.-lbs.) and then re-attach the rear shelf trim panel and the nut for the lower anchor, using the same torque as the retaining nut.
