Before starting, mark where the hinge is located on the hinge pillar. First remove the bolt and nut connecting the hinge to the front door, next take out the hinge bolts and finally free the hinge from the vehicle. First, take out the door hinge if you have a double ended stud mechanism. Double up the nut on the stud and take it out of the door frame; if it's broken, use locking pliers at the shoulder to back it out. For installation, put the hinge bracket on the car and tighten the bolt and nut after it's in place, so the bolt reaches a torque of 28 N.m (250 in.lbs.). After that, connect the hinge to the front door with the included bolt and nut, Allowing for a torque of 28 N.m (250 in.lbs.). If you have changed the double ended stud, be sure to tighten it to 14 N.m (120 in.lbs.). When the door is installed, inspect it to ensure it is both aligned and working properly; improve alignment as needed. If using a double ended stud, make sure replacement studs have been coated in thread sealer. If you are using the original studs, apply Mopar® Lock and Seal Adhesive or something similar to the threads before installing. Hold the double ended stud against the frame, tighten it to 14 N.m (120 in.lbs.) and then mount the hinge and tighten the hinge bolt and nut to 28 N.m (250 in.lbs.). Confirm the door operates well and makes no strange sounds and if it does, readjust it.
