The first step to taking out the instrument panel is to disable the air bag system which you do by disconnecting and isolating the negative
Battery Cable for two minutes, to allow the capacitor to discharge. You should start by detaching the panels near the A-pillar and afterward unplug the left and right A-pillar electrical connectors. Apply Trim Stick C-4755 or a similar tool to pop out the clips holding the defroster grille in place on the top of the instrument panel and take it off. After that, unlock the clips holding the cover of the steering column to the instrument panel and strip off the cover before removing the column. You can use Trim Stick C-4755 to push the clips free and remove the bezel covering the instruments, then remove the
Glove Box. Take out the nut that holds the instrument panel to the stud next to the
Blower Motor. Lift up the clips on the left and right front door sill scuff plates and take them off the sills. After that, detach the clips that secure the left and right cowl trim panels to the door sills and cowl and take off the trim panels. Separate both the instrument panel and HVAC plastic connectors and detach all the bolts and nuts from the windshield fence. Take out the
Center Console and remove the lower bin under the instrument panel as well. Once done, remove the two lower instrument panel bolts, use Trim Stick C-4755 to access the end caps and finally take out the bolt on each end to remove the panel.
