When taking off the console floor, earlier, push on the parking brake, get the engine running and stop the car using the service brakes that keeps the gear lever switched to Neutral. With the engine turned off, go to the Off position on the ignition, then release the service brakes. Battery Cable, slide out the mat in the front floor console, uncover the rear bin and pull out the mat in there. Pull the front of the console shifter bezel apart by removing its two screws, slide the trim stick over the bezel to free it and lift off the shifter bezel and place it aside. Take out the three 8 mm bolts fixing the console to the floor panel transmission tunnel and the two front screws attaching the console to the instrument panel on the other end. Move the console as far back as it will go to reach the hidden accessory power outlet, then connect and disconnect the wire and take out the floor console. Place the floor console in your car, reconnect the jumper wire connector to the accessory power outlet, place the front ears of the console into the slots on the lower instrument panel, line up the holes at the front of the console with the pins on the instrument panel and connect the locating pin on the console's rear bin with the slot in the top of the floor panel transmission tunnel. Attach the two screws at the front of the console to the instrument panel with a tightening force of 3 N.m (23 in.lbs.) and tighten the 3 8 mm bolts into the rear bin to 5 N.m (40 in.lbs.). Place the console shifter bezel over the gear selector handle, fit the tabs on the bottom of the bezel into the holes in the floor console and tighten the two console shifter bezel screws to 3 N.m (23 in.lbs.). Put the mat in the rear bin with the curved edge facing the front seat. For the cubby bin, insert the mat with the thick edge facing you. With your finger, press the shifter trim ring downwards and then move the gear selector lever into Park. After finishing, put the negative cable back onto the battery.
