Dodge Magnum Center Console Base Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install the Center Console Base on Dodge Magnum?
    A:
When taking off the console floor, earlier, push on the parking brake, get the engine running and stop the car using the service brakes that keeps the gear lever switched to Neutral. With the engine turned off, go to the Off position on the ignition, then release the service brakes. If your car has the Automatic Express Up power window function, calibrate power window controls whenever the door module loses power from removing the battery. Remove the negative Battery Cable, slide out the mat in the front floor console, uncover the rear bin and pull out the mat in there. Pull the front of the console shifter bezel apart by removing its two screws, slide the trim stick over the bezel to free it and lift off the shifter bezel and place it aside. Take out the three 8 mm bolts fixing the console to the floor panel transmission tunnel and the two front screws attaching the console to the instrument panel on the other end. Move the console as far back as it will go to reach the hidden accessory power outlet, then connect and disconnect the wire and take out the floor console. Place the floor console in your car, reconnect the jumper wire connector to the accessory power outlet, place the front ears of the console into the slots on the lower instrument panel, line up the holes at the front of the console with the pins on the instrument panel and connect the locating pin on the console's rear bin with the slot in the top of the floor panel transmission tunnel. Attach the two screws at the front of the console to the instrument panel with a tightening force of 3 N.m (23 in.lbs.) and tighten the 3 8 mm bolts into the rear bin to 5 N.m (40 in.lbs.). Place the console shifter bezel over the gear selector handle, fit the tabs on the bottom of the bezel into the holes in the floor console and tighten the two console shifter bezel screws to 3 N.m (23 in.lbs.). Put the mat in the rear bin with the curved edge facing the front seat. For the cubby bin, insert the mat with the thick edge facing you. With your finger, press the shifter trim ring downwards and then move the gear selector lever into Park. After finishing, put the negative cable back onto the battery.
  • Q: How to Detach the Center Console Base on Dodge Magnum?
    A:
Before removing the console, press the parking brake, set the Ignition Switch to On, stop by applying the brakes firmly and place the gear selector lever in the Neutral position. Now, press the Off ignition button and release the brakes. In case the Automatic Express Up option is used, the power door window must be calibrated when the power to the module is turned off and it must undergo a battery reconnect procedure if the battery is disconnected. Separate the negative wire from the battery, afterward pull the mat out from the cubby bin in front and remove the mat from the rear bin after opening the console's compartment on the back. Following that, unscrew the two screws holding down the front of the console shifter bezel, unsnap the console bezel from the console using a trim stick and remove the bezel from the gear selector lever. Detach the three 8 mm bolts underneath the rear bin that link the console to the floor panel transmission tunnel, then remove the two screws holding the console to the front of the instrument panel. Pull the console back to reveal the accessory socket on the underside, unconnect the jumper wire and if you have one, also disconnect the heated seat plug at the rear before removing the console from under the dashboard. When using the Center Console Cover with DVD, lift the console lid, remove the side panels, unscrew six screws and take out the console cover.
