How to Service and Repair a Hood Hinge on Dodge Neon?

Before anything else, lift up the side of the hood where you need hinge repair. Put marks at all bolt and hinge locations with grease pencil or a similar tool to help during installation. Ensure that all the lines you drew earlier are straight and join the hood hinge in place with bolts, so that the hood has a 4 mm gap from the front fenders and is flush along the top part of the fenders; to alter the height, fit shims beneath the hinge. Take out the bolts that hold the hood to the hinge and those that connect the hood hinge to the load beam flange to free the hinge from the vehicle. If it is important, paint the hinge before you fit it and then set it in place on the vehicle. Mount the bolts that connect the hood hinge to the front fender flange and next fasten the bolts that attach the hood to the hinge. Move all the marks so the bolts go through the holes properly and perfectly align the hood. Remove the shield from the air conditioning compressor and prove it is currently operating properly.
