Before repairing the trunk or liftgate latch, open the decklid. Take the bolts holding the decklid latch to the decklid and remove the latch as well. Release the attachment coming from the latch to the remote decklid latch release cable and also unplug the decklid ajar switch connector. After making these connections, take out the latch from the vehicle. During installation, place the new decklid latch, attach the remote decklid latch wire connector to it and connect the decklid ajar and lamp switch connector. Put in the bolts to join the latch to the decklid so they are aligned properly before closing.
