- Q: How to Maintain and Fix Door Seals on Dodge Ram 1500?A:First, remove the rear door transverse panel and the rear door pillar trim. For the front door, remove the cowl and lower b-pillar trim panels and then remove the door opening seal from the door opening flange. To open up the rear door, first detach the b-pillar and c-pillar trim pieces underneath and then de-attach the seal around the door from the flange. Place the bottom of the front door seal against the inside of the doorway and start the sealing bulb from the start of the lower flange in the center. Apply the seal to the sill flange and make it go around the window frame, making sure to keep it smooth as you go. Come after that and install the pieces of trim covering the lower b-pillar and the cowl. Starting at the splice, peel off the tear strip as you move it around the front of the door and to the back of the opening while installing a new Weather Strip on the front door opening. When you work on the rear door seal, make sure it is in the same position and fitted in the same way, so the bulb is outboard and pull the seal firmly around the whole edge of the door. After that, fit the lower c-pillar trim and the lower b-pillar trim, taking off the tear strip between them and the front of the opening.
