You should remove and separate the negative battery cable as the initial step in working on the power door lock actuator. To remove the front door lock, first unbolt the door latch assembly from the door, then take out the screw binding the power lock motor to the latch. Pull the power lock motor side that has no screw downwards to take it away from the bottom of the front door latch. To begin the installation, reverse all of the previous steps and secure the mounting screw at 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Because in dual side or rear door models, the power lock motor is built into the door latch, a faulty or damaged motor requires a complete replacement of the door latch. Before handling side or single rear door installation, remember to disconnect the battery negative cable and then lift off the trim panel inside the door. Pass your hand through the access hole in the inner door panel to take apart the connecting link, next, unfasten the power lock motor wire connector from its hole and finally remove the connector. Take out the screws holding the power lock motor bracket and remove the motor assembly from your door. Unscrew the mounting screws to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.), then turn the device around and use the previous steps to install it again.
