Above the pump in the fuel tank, you will find the fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator. Release all of the pressure from the fuel system before doing any service. First, empty the fuel tank and take it off the vehicle. Purify the filter/regulator hub to keep bacteria from entering the pump connection. Before you remove the filter/regulator, make sure you're not pulling it further than three inches away from the fuel pump module. Cut the old clamp around the fuel tube gently, so you don't harm the plastic inside and then unclamp the fuel tube from the filter/regulator. While installing, fit a clamp to the plastic fuel pipe, add the regulator, then turn it so it's facing the driver's side of the car. Tighten the line clamp to the fuel line with Hose Clamp Pliers C-4124, instead of cutting the line with standard side cutters. Push the filter/regulator through the rubber grommet and verify it is fitted the right way. Once the fuel tank is in place, make sure you see no fuel leaks.
