How to service the Headlight Bulb on Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

First, lift the hood and put the support rod into the proper place. Press on the headlamp lever, keeping your fingers behind the headlight, to lift up the headlamp release. After that, take the headlamp out of the mounting adaptor and unplug the wire from the bulb. Unscrew the bulb locking ring 1/4 turn away from you, then pull the ring back to free it, before pulling the halogen bulb from the housing and removing the retaining ring. Before turning on the new bulb, be sure not to touch the glass, since it can cause the oil to remain behind and reduce the bulb's time in operation. Put the lock ring on the new bulb, attach the connector, insert the bulb into the headlamp area and turn the ring a 1/4 of the way clockwise.
