To remove and replace the water-to-oil cooler, first position the oil cooler on the cylinder block and install 2 capscrews to the cylinder block finger tight. Next, install capscrews at the transmission adapter, torquing the bolt to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Tighten the lower mounting bolt to the cooler at the cylinder block to 77 Nm (57 ft. lbs.), using a back up wrench on the transmission cooler fittings to prevent damage. Then, tighten the upper mounting bolt to the cooler at the cylinder block to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Install the wire harness push-in clip at the bottom of the cooler bracket, followed by the starter motor. Connect the battery negative cables, fill the cooling system, and check the transmission oil level, filling as necessary.
